Harry at 10 Weeks

It has been quite a time with our little Harry! He is getting more and more fun every day! He is growing so much. He grew 5 ounces since our last doctor appointment making him a whopping 13.5 ounces. He is going through a growth spurt right now, it is not very good for me when he wants to wake up every 2 hours to eat. I am hoping it won't last too much longer. He is really smiling a lot more. He smiles at certain faces and if you smile really big at him. He always smiles at Chad, no matter what mood he is in Chad can get him grinning! He hasn't been grunting as much as he was he now coos and talks!

He has started drooling! I kind of think it is cute but, I can't find any bibs I really like so when he is in public his outfit ends up getting soaked.

He is still a fan of the bath tub, it is still our family's favorite time of the day, Chad and I just ooh and ahh at him until he goes to bed. I guess it is expected of new parents.

He has been a little congested lately so I took him to the doctor to make sure it wasn't backing into his ears or lungs and sure enough she said he was just fine. I felt better knowing that he wasn't sick. I promised her I would do my best to not be one of those paranoid moms, I have a feeling I may have to back out of that promise a few times.

He really knows who Chad and I are, it is so neat to watch him follow our voice and face when we are with other people, I am for sure he will be a mama's boy!

I guess that is all for now, Harry Heaven is just getting more and more fun every day. I have 2 more weeks before I go back to work so we are having a lot of pj days!

Guess Who's Back

I have been off the blog train for a while! Last week was so rough on us because Harry was so much more fussy than normal. It really wore me out and blogging was the last thing on my mind when Chad got home. Harry is back to his old self with a few new tricks! We took a fun trip to Searcy this weekend to watch the Bison play their last home game and visit a few friends!

Notice she is still in her pajamas but her hair looks GREAT! This is who Harry was going to be named after if he was a girl!
Saturday morning we woke up for a trip to my Grandmother Georgia's house! She lives about an hour from Searcy and has not met the HARRY! She was so excited to meet him and I was so excited to see her. She is my closest family member next to my parents. I adore her more than anyone and have had a very special bond with her my whole life. She is the most remarkable women I have ever known. I could write about her for hours. I actually have written many papers on her for school. She is 88 and has the mind of a young women, she still remembers the days and hours she worked when she was in college at Harding working in the laundry. She told us about how George Benson went to her Daddy's farm to recruit her for school. She worked 6 hours a week that paid her tuition! She has the most amazing stories, I wish she would write a book. Her physical health is catching up with her, I know that it happens but, it is still hard to see someone you have always thought was your superhero get down. She was wild about Harry and Harry was wild about her(she sang that song to him)! We had a great visit and none of us wanted to leave! I hope Harry is able to get to know her and appreciate her enormous amount of love!We stayed with Chad's Aunt Annie (Grann to Harry)! She is so nice to visit with. Harry was not lacking in hugs from his Grann. He loved playing on her floor and slept so good at her house. He thinks Grann should come visit him all the time. Grann was the first family member I met in Chad's family, she is so good at making people feel at ease, I always feel so comfortable when she is around. She and Chad have a special bond, he adores her and I have definitely learned why!
One of Harry's favorite parts was spending some QT with both of his aunts. My sister, Emily(left) and Chad's sister, Hannah(right) were able to play with Harry. Both of them are at Harding and involved with the same spring sing show. Emily and I are very close and she loves on Harry every chance she gets. She has really grown into a beautiful, sweet and caring girl! I am so lucky to have a hip sister who will let me know when my jeans are out of style! I love being able to spend time with her. Harry loves how proud she is of him! Hannah is the sister in law that every wife loves to have! She is so calm and collective in all situations and is such a trustworthy person, she is a breath of fresh air! She and Chad are a lot of like, it may be why I appreciate her so much. I have never met anyone as talented as her, she is extremely creative, beautiful, smart, can sing with the best of them, and from what I have learned knows how to shake her thing when it comes to dancing! She always makes the extra drive and time to come visit Baby Harry, he knows who loves him and Hannah will no doubt be on the top of his list! Of course Chad's favorite part was going to the Bison basketball game, there was no doubt he wanted to throw on that jersey and get out there with the guys! As you can see Harry slept through the part of the game he was out. If you have not been able to attend a Harding Bison Basketball game, you are really missing out! They rock out more than an U of A basketball game. I wanted to post pictures of Harry with Chad's big awards that were hanging in the hallway but, my modest husband refused to let me! He was so embarrassed we were taking pictures in the first place. I know that he will appreciate it in 20 years! Chad has great memories of being out there and I know those games will be trips we will always look forward to taking! Chad sat with his best buds Darren and Jay, who played with him while they were at Harding. Those three played really well together and had so much fun doing it. Harry had a fun time getting to eat with them and hanging out with them at the game. Harry and I left to take cookies to the JGJ and KJK spring sing practice!

Harry got lots of attention at Emily and Hannah's spring sing practice, they were not afraid to show him off and get lots of pictures with him. Harry brought all the girls good luck charm cookies that he spent lots of time helping Mommy make! They have worked so hard to make it perfect and it looked so good and fun. Hannah has been working really hard as one of the directors and the show will for sure win! I was able to visit with one of the old sponsors from when there. Some of my friends who live near Conway had some baby lambs! This is Lily and she is 3 weeks old. She wanted to give Harry a kiss! Please forgive the ugly travel outfit Harry is wearing. I wanted him to be comfortable because he wore pants the whole day before. I think I will be able to crop out the advertisement when I print them!
We all came home safe and sound and Harry has not lost track of his routine. He is actually sleeping better than before! We will be going back for Easter weekend and I am sure we will be able to get even better pictures with the azaleas and Lilly!

2 Months Old

Harry went to get his shots this morning! He got a good pep talk from his Daddy about being brave and boy was he! He napped on the way there!
Getting his check up! Harry is in the 75th percentile in weight and height. Mimi was our support! She did a great job of keeping his mind off the awful shots! All was well right after the deed was done. Poor Harry slept 3 and 1/2 hours after getting his shots.
He woke up for a picture with his friend Sarah! Lunch was so fun hearing about how Chad washed her sisters hair in the toilet when they were little! Sarah and Chad's family were buddies when they all lived in Little Rock!
Harry and I decided to hang out with the Hicks after lunch! It turned into a visit that lasted until 11:00pm! Although Harry has a crush on Lindsey she flirted the entire time with Chad! Thanks Lindsey for sharing your mobile with Harry!

Bums for a Day or Two!

Pajamas not just all day yesterday but, all day today! Harry and I were in our pajamas and stayed in the house for 2 whole days! It has been bliss! Harry had an accident in his pjs so he had to change but not me! We have just relaxed and played the last 2 days and had so much fun!
Harry was very interested in what Mr. Bush had to say!
He listened intently taking mental notes!
This is our new favorite thing to do! Harry and I will walk around the house cheek to cheek while I hum! He fell asleep doing it today! I just love his sweet cheeks. This picture is proof that we have not only stayed in our pjs but, planned on not seeing anyone!!! I love all of my time with Baby Harry. Harry turns 2 months old tomorrow and will be going to the doctor for his shots! I am nervous about our first experience with pain. We at least get to celebrate his 2 month birthday at lunch with Sarah (i finally figured out that link trick)! Sarah was my favorite Kojie president in college! I am so glad she lives to close to us! Harry can't wait to meet her!

U and I

Harry says if he wrote the alphabet he would put U and I together! Happy Valentine's Day!

Mimi and Papa brought the Warehouse B branch some very nice treats! Mommy's favorites were the treats from the best bakery in the world! Mimi knows her love language! Harry loved his sweater and hat that will look great with his Easter outfit. The books are nice too, we already read the first 2 chapters of Mommy's Needs Daddy's Need(same author as His Needs Her Needs)! We love it when Papa and Mimi come to visit!
Daddy suprised mommy with assorted flowers and some $$ for her in between clothes! I can learn alot from that guy!

Family and Parties

This was a weekend of parties! Hannah's was first! We celebrated her 20th birthday at the Warehouse Main Branch! Hannah is Chad's very favorite beautiful sister! It is amazing how mature she is for her age! Harry(Papa) cooked steaks and we all devoured them! Harry had a great time getting lots of kisses from the Wares!

Is that Hannah on a camel???

Looks like Brooklyn and Harry found 2 shoulders to lean on!

Hannah, Brooklyn, Harry, and 2 big ear rings! This was pretty much what Brooklyn did the entire party! At least she looked good doing it!
Harry had the most fun looking at Tyler(Hannah's boyfriend)! Tyler received the most smiles from Harry! We all love Tyler but Saturday night Harry loved him the most!

We headed to Clarksville after an evening of fun to visit with the Deans! We were able to take Harry to my parent's church and boy was he greeted with love! He instantly fell asleep in Great Grandmother's arms, she is the original baby whisperer! She said she wants to work in the nursery when she gets to heaven! Harry was very comfortable in her arms! Harry was then passed from family member down the row! With all of his cousins sitting by us I don' t think any of us heard the sermon!

Dezi turned 5! I have to say she knows how to throw a party! She was so kind after opening every gift, she would makes sure she made eye contact with the gift giver and tell them how much she LOVED the gift they gave her! She is the most high tech kid I know! She has a Barbie lap top, pink Barbie digital camera, and a toy ipod that really plays music but easier to use! It is amazing what kind of toys kids are getting these days! It is so funny to give Dezi gifts, she is so appreciative, I could learn a lot from this miracle girl!

Dezi, Jordan, and Emily! Emily and Jordan gave us a sneak preview of the KJK/JGJ Spring Sing act, Hannah is the director! I definitely think they are going to win!
Dezi had 2 cakes for her birthday, this is the one she picked out!

Harry, Dezi, and Zoie pose for the camera! Dezi loves to play baby with Harry!

Caroline and Harry decided to pose for the camera!

The best part was the entertainment!

"Just a Swingin"

Harry decided he loved swinging front to back instead of side to side. I put him in it today and he just smiled at the big reflection mirror! I was able to get some good shots while he was smiling and swinging! Whoever thought of this amazing invention was so SMART!

Please excuse the clutter, we just finished taking down the Christmas decor.

The quality of these pictures are not so great because I had to use the sports mode.

Thumb Sucker

Harry all the sudden started sucking his thumb today! It is so odd, he woke up from a nap and has been suck his thumb or hand ever since. Is that normal? It seems like all of my questions these days are normality questions. Is it normal for a baby to start sucking their thumb at 7 weeks and if so should I try to stop him? We tried to get a picture but it just didn't work out.

Superbowl Sunday

Brandie Reynolds is the hostess with the mostest! Chad calls her Bre (for her cooking skills and presentation, not her bad choices in men)! She goes beyond the call for parties! She brought us meals for 3 weeks after Harry's birth. They were not just any meals they were from scratch homemade 5 course amazing meals! Jonathan is spoiled by his wonderful wife who does this on a daily basis while working a full time job!
Erin and Todd Faubus are the other cool couple we spent our Super Bowl Sunday with! They are one of the nicest couples we know! They are so nice to Harry! We are so happy they decided to go to our church!

Harry had a great time at the Reynolds house! Go COLTS!

A Love Affair with Hair

Even Harry is not impressed!
We can't get the picture to fully show the color due to lighting, but trust me it is not worth what I paid!
It may be vain, it may be pride but, for me it is generational! Not only does my mom obsess over her hair but, my 87 year old gorgeous Grandmother drives(has someone drive her) 2 and 1/2 hours to have her shining gray hair cut. So as you can see HAIR is an issue! Hair is my confidence! I frequently say that the blonder I become the bigger my self esteem! I never went blonde until I graduated college, I never understood how those college students could afford the "good" salons. I guess I have to mention the time in 9th grade when I spent my summer spraying the natural blonde lemon highlight spray that turned my hair orange This put me in a chair with a snobby legit hair stylest dying my hair black and making me feel like the biggest idiot for using Wal-Mart as as beauty consultant. For the last 5 or so years I have been a "true" blonde not all true blondes have blonde roots! I have hunted high and low for the best designer to be so lucky as to highlight my hair! I found the place in this town and I have been very loyal to her and the calming salon she works at. I tip well, compliment often, and even buy the hair products! I listen to her as she talks about her recent divorce, her fight with the manicurist, and her trip to NY for consultations. As you can see, a good hair designer relationship has to be one built on trust. Since Harry arrived my hair has taken a back seat and the time had come for me to leave the baby for 3 hour to better my hair. I call to schedule the appointment and to my dismay they very shortly and inconsiderately tell me she does not work there any more! NOT WORK THERE....where I ask and their reply is "can we schedule you with another designer"????? I hang up in a hairy panic and call my hair obsessed friends and mom as to what to do. I then remember I have a very nice size gift card to a very upscale salon in town. I receive these for my birthday and Christmas from Chad for massages. I decide to save the haircents and use the gift cards for this salon with a color specialist! Today was the day, I left the baby with the hubby and spent 3 hours on myself. I was surprised to hear when I sat down that my hair color is not only unnatural but, cut uneven and yellow! Unlike some I loved that she was so honest until I went to the counter to pay! I admit I have spent too much on hair in the past, the salon I was at was pretty pricey and Chad has sympathized by putting my hair in the budget but, when I checked out to pay at this salon I looked around the room for hiddenc cameras! They charged me 3 times what the their brochure said, I missed the up part beside the dollar amount for a highlight. I knew it was going to be more than my former salon(which was not cheap)but, not 3 times as much. I usually walk out of the salon every 6 weeks feeling good but, I walked out of this one feeling like an idiot! I could buy a new car for the amount she charges for every highlight! I cried all the way home, most of the time we cry because our hair looks bad, not me, even though it is much darker than I had planned and looks a bit too "mom" for me, I walked out feeling scammed. I drove out of the upscale parking lot with my upscale hair and an upscale temper! Chad has been surprisingly supportive, he compared it to getting 2 traffic tickets in a row! You know you should have followed the signs(I should have done more research) but, you get caught up in the moment. I am now back to where I started 5 years ago, an empty wallet and without a designer!

Disclaimer: Please do not take offense to the part about bottle dye, I wish I could make my hair look good on my own, my experiences point me in a different direction!

Harry's First Visit to the Millers

The Warehouse had a fun time at Kirk and Rachel's house. We played air hockey, ate some yummy chilli, and Harry received some good loving! http://kirkandrachel.blogspot.com/ Kirk is a natural with Baby Harry! Harry can learn lots of things from this guy!!
Like how to play the slots!

We enjoyed our short visit! We always have a good time with Aunt Rachel and Uncle Kirk. Harry played so much he slept all the way home!
