First Day of Pre K and MDO for the School Year

My days are numbered with this little guy!  He started back to preschool two days a week! Ideally I would have him in one day but, I am a working mama and I have got to get work done!  He was thrilled about today! He jumped out of bed cheering for school!  He dressed himself and was ready to roll!

Georgia Kelley was happy to go too!  She had to have her Bobby(paci), Tutu, and Mimi(blanket)!  She walked right on in that classroom!

How hard is it to get a picture of them two together? Impossible...

Oh how I love being Harry and Georgia Kelley's mommy!  This week my MDO days consist of meeting with two principals, two cooperating teachers, and two student teachers; lunch with friends, yoga, library for getting books for Wednesday night's class, creating a syllabus for Saturday, posting this blog, breakfast by myself/on the phone with friends at The Station, cleaning up my crib, and maybe a quick trip to Target!   I am so grateful for their school and the time I have to get work done but, the first few weeks of MDO take some adjustments!

Humbled

I have been humbled!  In most working situations when an employee resigns, they are usually out of sight out  and of mind not long after they leave.  That is not so in my case.  My two friends and teammates that I worked with last year insisted on throwing me a shower.  I was determined to talk them out of it because, 1. second baby, 2. people don't like to spend money on diapers, especially on someone they don't see much!  That is not the case at good ole' Old High Middle School!  I was showered with diapers, gift cards, and sweet girly books!  My friend Amy hosted at her new house and the turn out humbled me. I did not expect many people to come but, I was suprised with my favorite coworkers dropping by!  Talk about true friends!  I miss them all so much! Those two gifts below are the hostess gifts, Sign Sealed Delievered may be the best wrapping store ever!Babies always bring joy to events!

The two hostesses and a tired mama!  Stacey and Amy are my teammates from last year that I miss so much! Chad was the most excited when I got home! He said, you got enough diapers for 3 months and gift cards to pay for diapers for the next three!  Those are his favorite gifts!  I have to say that the gift of time and effort that the teachers gave me were my favorite!  I am humbled, I just do not feel like I deserve to be showered this much with a second baby!  On the other hand, I am enjoying every minute!

Harry Birthday Two You

The "Birthday Elves" visited Harry this morning leaving behind a huge mess of glitter(Daddy was quick to clean it up)! They also left Harry some football pajamas; you can never have too many sets of football pjs! Harry also got a Plasma that the Birthday Elves got a very good deal on! It was supose to be from Santa but, the elves worked it out to give it to him early! HE LOVES IT!Harry celebrated with his friends at school. They were very excited to eat cupcakes! I had planned on bring football cupcakes but, the bakery I ordered them was to far to drive to since the weather was so bad; Frosty had to do! Thank goodness for Wal-Mart's bakery!
I have to give my idea for the banner from my friend Rachel Miller! She had one made for McCoy and I had to have one, I mean, Harry really wanted one!
I had so much fun making it, my friend Holly helped me sew the seams, she is amazing on the sewing machine! Chad and I can not express in words the love we have for this wild little 2 year old! He is fun, smart, and just plain sweet! I can not imagine life without Harry in it. It has been a very eventful 2 years! We love you Mr. Harry!

We love every silly, wild, funny thing you do! Everyone needs a little Harry in their life!

Back to School :Year Six on the Other Side

It is a bittersweet week; I am getting ready for my passion for learning and at the same time, I am not getting to spend as much time as I would like with Harry. We have had a fabulous summer and it is not over, just a couple of more days and I will be back devoted to my classroom. I have been up there quite a bit but, not near as much as I would like. As most of you who know me know, I absolutely love my job! I especially love my job from August to April and then my emotional stability gets shaky! I love my coworkers, we are very close and work very well together, I have an amazing principal and lets just say my assistant principal and I are on a path to a good friendship. I could not ask for more in a job, now less, I could ask for! I would prefer to work a couple of days a week and chill with Harry the rest, but time will answer that request. Anyhow, I have no doubts that this is what God has planned for me, not that I agree 100% but, I know I am in my element when I am teaching. Oh and if you are sitting there thinking, she gets her summers off etc....talk to a teacher with a toddler and maybe your judgements will change. Just and idea:)

On another note: I changed a few things on my good ole' never fail, can't believe I went 25 years without it BLOG! I have to give it to blogger, I wouldn't remember half the stuff I put on here if I had not met up and created a loving relationship with this amazing resource. On the other hand, he gets annoying....enough said. When you live with someone for 2 years and have such a serious and devoted relationship like we do, there is bound to be a few rocky patches at some point. Blog and I are having some relationship problems. I am not as devoted and dedicated as I once was and it is keeping me out of the blog loop and my posts are not as good as I would like them to be. I thought that a quick make over would help me to get me to keep up with our events and my ideas. Let's see how it goes!
I took off my links list because, they are no good to me anymore I have a favorites link with them all on there and most of you went private. There are probably 10 that I haven't added and a couple I don't check as often anymore. If you are reading this, I am totally not talking about your blog! Your blog is my favorite:)
I end this with a question, a thought, request, and an idea:
Will I learn to balance my acts(passions) of mother and teacher gracefully this year?
So many amazing women have done it and are better for it, so it is possible for some.
Will you prayer I get it better than I did last year. I want to be a better teacher and mother along with being a better wife. Although, I must say Chad is the easiest out of the three!
Peace, Love, and Back to School

A Harry Friday

Friday was Harry's last day in the Wiggle Worm Room. They had a pajama and water party! Harry was all about partying! This is what I saw when I walked in!

Those are Harry's best buddies at school. Elizabeth's(far left) mom is the nurse at my school. Grace's(second from the left) mom is a good friend of mine who is a teacher; and Peyton's(far right) mom is a teacher too who is such an awesome girl! Elizabeth and Peyton say Harry all time; they are all just a few weeks apart. Grace is the youngest and Harry is crazy about her!

Who would have thought the slip and slide would be the big hit!

Friday night we ate dinner at the Ware's house. Papa cooked out while the babies played in Mimi's blow up bouncy toy. Harry went nuts in it and Brooklyn warmed up quick! Brooklyn enjoyed it more when she was not being tackled by Harry. The moms went to see Leave it in Vegas; and I have to say it was hilarious! I guess it is my kind of humor! Anything with Cameron Diaz I know I am going to enjoy.

Harry, trashcan, me, and Brook!

Harry the Bully/Helper

We all know that our Harry is a very gentle baby when we are around, but at daycare he can sometimes show a different mischievous side! When talking to his teachers about how he has been doing they referred to him as the "leader of the pack". They said this because he is not one to follow any of the other babies around, he instead "bugs" them, or "help" them as he would say...if he could talk.
He wanted to help 3 month Grace sleep by shaking her crib while she was sleeping.
Three month Baby Anna needed some help swinging in her swing, so Harry pushed it for her.
Payton who is 10 months was not chewing on his paci correctly, so Harry demonstrated after taking Paytons out and putting it in his mouth.
Most of you have heard about Elizabeth who is 3 weeks younger than Harry; he has a thing for her. He thinks she looks much cuter without a bow or ponytail, so he kindly pulls it out, every day.
Luckily, his teachers think he is funny and love him but, I am not so sure about the other mommies! Grace's mom and Elizabeth's mom think it is cute, I am glad they know that Harry has good intentions:)
Oh, and Harry came home sick again......bug bug bug!

1st Day of School

Aunt Amy made my A list today when she emailed me this message and pictures from Harry:
I have been such a good boy today! I haven't even cried once!! I slept for 2 1/2 hours and explored Uncle Scott and Aunt Amy's house from one side to the other!! I ate all my peas/carrots and avocados and had a bottle after I woke up. I was a little dazed at first from such a long nap, but I snapped out of it quick, played with Brooke and Maggie and had fun fun fun! I think I can stay here a few more hours, but then all I want is you! So get ready for some Harry Bear time!!

I LOVE YOU!!!

I was also very thankful and encouraged by the sweet messages from Kim, Holly, Lauren and Mom! Chad came home with Rick's petifors!!

For the record; Harry came home talking louder than he was before, I wonder who he learned that from???

Update

I know it has been a while since my last post but, honestly nothing has been going on and we have been super busy! I haven't been carrying my camera around as much this week but, plan on getting back in the habit. I don't like to post without a picture so, the picture for the week is this one with Brooklyn! Chad took the day off to watch Harry and Brooklyn on Friday! He loved every minute! He said he doesn't know how people with twins do it, but he enjoyed the day. He wanted Harry to match Brooklyn so he put Harry in his Polo outfit for a photo shoot! Tomorrow is the first day of school and for some reason I have a lot of anxiety! I thought I was completely content until church tonight! I just started crying, I am going to miss him! When Chad and I made the decision for me to keep working we said we would take it one year at a time; the year seems so long at this point! Harry will be fine, he is social, loves other babies and is pretty independent. I know when I get back into it the days will fly by and seeing Harry will be the highlight of everyday. Amy is watching Harry on my first day back, a brave soul! He has become a handful, bear crawling or should I call it speed crawling, he is a quick one!
I have to brag on Chad. I told him that it was understood when we said our wedding vows that when you marry a teacher you will have extra tasks that seem tedious but oh so important! He has organized my Outlook, stapled border on walls, created my reading log on Excel, and now he is cutting slits in tennis balls for the legs of the student's chairs. He has finally understood the need for a new outfit on the first day of school. Even teachers need a new set of threads to sport on the much anticipated 1st day!
Speaking of clothes I have to give this random fact that my friend Holly pointed out to me today after we went shopping. Forever 21 has scripture on the bottom of their bags! I kid you not, John 3:16 is printed 2 times on the very bottom of the bag. I was so surprised, random I know, yet interesting.
I know this bunch of random notes but, I wanted to keep up with what is happening on my first day back to school with a baby.
I hope everyone else has a great first week back!

Harry in the Classroom

This will be my 5th year starting a new school year as the teacher. This is my 1st year to start a new school year with such a "great" little helper! I am suprisingly excited about the new school year. It is bittersweet. I cherish my time with Harry but, am eager to engulf in my passion for learning. I have been very lucky to know some awesome girls who love my baby. They come to school and play with him while I get work done. My room is a mess in these pictures but, it has finally came together. I will have to put post pictures on the blog. I am sure Harry will be glad to pose in them.
It has become a family affair. Chad helped staple paper in those hard to reach places and Mom came to share ideas and take care of Harry. Harry has a whole new world to explore when he comes to my school. He has found many new teething toys, messes to make, more books to knock over, and of course he doesn't play with HIS toys that I brought.
I laugh because, he loves this ball, it has questions about books on it and I have decided that when I land on "Who is the main character of your story?" it will and forever be HARRY!
Poor kid is filthy after navigating under the desks and chairs; pulling up on racks and shelves. He is in for an adventure every time he comes to visit.
