Our Day OUT

I am well aware that my time with Harry is short.  He will be in kindergarten next year and our adventure days are over! Harry loves being outside, riding his bike, and being outside! We had planned on going to War Eagle today with our friend but they weren't feeling well; Harry was so excited I had to follow through with our trip.  We went to Bible class and I skipped our monthly lunch to take the kids out to War Eagle for a picnic! The kids love it out there! Our little trip lead us to another honey spot in this area!

I also wanted to take their pictures in some of their Halloween gear! These clothes are not practical for our surroundings!I love this picture of Harry because, he is always telling me one of his big ideas and he talks with this hands!

 Our unprocessed lunches!

War Eagle has their own mill!  You can watch wheat and corn get milled into flour! It has been really helpful for our new world of unprocessed! It is cool to see all the different kinds of wheat and corn they grind!

Their restaurant upstairs is to die for!  This is where I lost it!  Their pecan cobbler is just unbeatable!  We indulged and of course it is Emily's birthday! Always a reason to celebrate!
We decided to go a little bit further down the road (like a minute from War Eagle) and hit the new Hobbs State Park set up!  It was AMAZING! The things they have going for kids have BOY written all over them!  Harry was totally digging it! They had live snacks, turtles, lizards, and toads!

A video we didn't spend much time watching!
This was so cool! They had a cave that you could walk in and push buttons that lit up different parts of it! You could see all the animals and bugs that lived in it!  We were in learning central!

This was another super cool bonus!

This place was so amazing!  It is only 30 minutes away and we will be back!

Georgia Kelley is my quiet big helper! Harry pours and runs and Georgia Kelley picks it all up!
All in one day my kids experienced so much! Harry learned about making bread from the grains, how snakes shed, all about bats, cave life, animals that live in Arkansas, and bird watching!  There was so much more!  I can't wait to go back! The activities they have for kids were over the top!  YEAH!

Wednesday with Hillbillies and Peter Pan

Chad took off on Wednesday with the Hollands for a day at Branson! They gave us their buddy passes to SDC! I have not been in the summer since I was eleven! We went at Christmas, but it is a whole other park in the summer! Eden, Amy, Harry, and I took American Plunge. We all four wanted to go again!Chad and Shawn rode the coasters!
Harry loved every minute of Silver Dollar City. He was beyond good! Chad and I agreed that watching the kids experience the rides and sites were our favorite parts!
We were even more blessed to get tickets to see Peter Pan off Broadway! It was magical!
After the show we scrounged up the energy to eat at the Hard Luck Cafe! The kids enjoyed the fountain!
I got a shoutout for my birthday. That was so "fun"!
It was a very enjoyable and memorable day trip!

A Day with Animals!

Now this is a fun crew! How can you not have fun with these little guys? We had a blast at the Gentry Safari Zoo. I think this is better than going to the zoo because, you get to touch so many animals....almost all of them! Harry was in heaven with some of his favorite friends and Brooklyn came too and that is always a bonus! The best part is feeding the animals and Harry was all about it! I didn't get many pictures of the exotic animals (since we were in the car I had a few kids in my lap)!

The little animal in here; a goat I think; obviously did not want to play....Harry would have crawled in if I would have let him!

Brooklyn was cold and can I say that Harry was so proud that she wore his jacket. Harry was proud to have her come with us period.

Harry rode a water buffalo(I think this buffalo was depressed...notice his head is down).
Brooklyn loved the animals(except the emus) but, she wanted them all a good yard away from her. The only exception was this little snake...her mother is cringing at the thought! This snake was probably the only animal that someone was holding that didn't move...maybe that is why she liked it...well that would rule out the turtle too..hmm...

This little piggy got a little too close!

I can't wait to go again; maybe next time we will pick a day without so much wind!

Keeping on Track

One neat thing about being a mommy of a boy is you go places you would never otherwise; like a model train show at the Clarion Hotel! Harry and I ventured out this morning to see a plethora of model trains and it was a site to see! This is the time of year Chad has to work on Saturdays; Harry and I get our own little dates! It was so fun watching his reaction, he was mesmerized by them all! He probably could have stared at them all day but, since his mom has a very little attention span for these kind of things we cut it down to an hour...poor Harry! The picture below is my favorite, this was his main expression. He is waiting for the train to come through the tunnel!
He received a certificate for being the train engineer! he loved this part!
He always wanted to go back to this train! The old man standing in the background told Harry over a dozen times, "don't touch, just look!" Harry didn't even try to touch that thing...I wonder how many times that man says that all day...he probably says it in his sleep!
