Rainbow Camp Morning

They woke up talking it up!  We just laid in bed listening!  The things they talk about are so funny! They talked about their age at least every hour! While they waited for breakfast they created marshmallow rainbows!  You know they stick when they are licked!  They stuck cotton candy as the clouds!  They LOVED this one!
I started stirring up rainbow pancakes!
I tired to do the quick version in the far R but, it obviously didn't look good!
Once again...this can only look good to kids!

Pancakes are WINNERS! They kept saying "they don't have a taste".  This is because I don't keep syrup in the house! I gave them honey and it did the trick!
Since we didn't get to all the fun, I bagged it up!  A bag of rainbow with goldfish, fruit loops, marshmallows, skittles, jelly beans, and cotton candy!  We also planned on making a rainbow necklace with fruitloops, so I just sent it home. They got to take home a cupcake, their play dough with art work!  I saved all the left overs for my nieces coming on Friday!
It was a success and a colorful time!  I had fun and did not do anything but take a long long nap on Thursday afternoon!  When I spend time with this age I get the itch to go back and teach kindergarten!

Happy kids and happy mommies!

Rainbow Camp Wednesday

I must note that I am a one hit wonder! I have to tell people at my church that who want me to volunteer my time.  I can do one great thing but, I don't like doing it all the time!  With that said, I wish I could say I do these things with my kids daily or even weekly but, I don't! I had huge plans to when I quit working full time but, we just seem to find other things that consume our time.
The guest arrived and it was play time!
They played for a while and they ready for a snack!  The snack came with the first lesson!  They put the goldfish in order and snacked!

It was mean of me to put the cupcakes in the middle! Maddox insisted on cupcakes first! It was unanimous....cupcakes first!
We frosted and then put jellybeans in color order of the rainbow!  Layla, being the daughter of an artist, had this down!

 White icing for clouds!

 Sweet Georgia Kelley enjoyed watching!

That just looks gross to me!  Not to my guests though!
Magic trick time!  Harry and I made play dough and rolled it into little balls. I put a few drops of food coloring in each one.  Every child got a red, yellow, and blue.  They look plain but once you mush them all up up they turn into a color!  It was magic! I told them if their ball turned into a color that meant they were good kids!

Then we mixed the primary colors to make secondary colors! Notice they all wanted to sit close to each other!
 Layla making purple!
Maddox making green and sour Harry thinks it is too hard! I did have to help them a  little. Their little hands got tired!  It is a great activity to help with handwriting skills:)

 Lindsey LOVED making these balls!
 So did Maddox!
 Look! Orange!
 More ORANGE!
Trampoline time!  It was perfect time for Chad to come home and play too!

Huge hit! Thanks to Mimi and Papa for a great Xmas gift!

I worked on our rainbow kabobs!   Layla helped me too!
Every color of the rainbow! Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink!
 Love those food color markers!

They tasted almost all the fruit!
And did not like all the fruit!

We learned about some fruits and how God loves colors!  These kids knew their fruit but, a few stumped them!  Grapefruit was a loser;(

They refilled their skewer of their favorites!
Now time for Scratch and Sniff paint with kool aid!  Maddox did not want any part of this!

He wanted to play bad guys with Chad!
He wanted Harry to play too!
 They loved smelling it!
 Maddox came around!

He couldn't resist!  But he wanted ALL blue!
This is the only picture of night jump!  I look like a goof ball but we had fun playing popcorn!  I left quickly and they thought they were big stuff out there by themselves in the dark!

They were ready to get cozy with their last rainbow snack of the night! I have to say I had other activities lined up but, they insisted on a movie!  The showing was Carebears....surprise!
 Rainbow popcorn! M&Ms and clouds!
They also wanted to sleep in the living room with a second movie! I don't know what time they went to bed! They were talking when we fell asleep!  It was a super colorful night with a taste of the rainbow!
I have to say I LOVE these kids!  Just love them! I have watched those girls grow up and Maddox fits in perfectly!  I missed my Baby Jake!  We know he was having much more fun than us but, we still missed him!
