All Things Are Ready

The big decision when having a baby is what outfit she will wear home...right?  Well, we have finally picked one!  Actually, Chad did!  Let's have a run down on the finalists! This one is  Chad's mom  and Harry's vote for her take home gear.  The only thing is it is a bit big, we have a feeling GK is not going to be too big.I liked this outfit that Amy got GK because it small and just plain sweet. We decided on this one for the day before she leaves since it is hard to wear a gown in the carseat.Drum roll.... Chad chose this one as the big winner!  He said he liked the colors! You just can't beat hot pink!  Melissa, Kathy, Holly, and Kim B are the ones who spotted the bill on this dress! Kia gave her the pants and the dress she gave her almost made the winner!  Socks were a given to her by Miss Amy Ware too! I made the bigger than life bow that needs some yellow, but I have checked out from bow making for a while! The other thing that is ready is her bookshelf.  I ordered it from Wal-Mart and yes, they personalized it!  It was a good price and I am thanking Pat and Gail for the gift card that paid for it!I could only put 10 letters on the monogram and Georgia Kelley did not fit, I asked Chad about Georgia and he agreed she is a Georgia Kelley, not just Georgia.I think Stellaluna will be a staple in her life...if you've read it you will get it!All things are ready, but I am not so sure I am!  We are all so excited about her but, I just worry about how it will effect Harry.  I keep surrendering the worries to God but, I wake up every day with them back!  I obviously need a lesson on trust!

Bikes Blues and BBQ

Harry loves "otercycles"! I mean he can spot one from a mile away on  a curve! Unfortunately he has parents who are not into "otercycles"!  We do know the importance of giving your children a wide variety of experiences at a young age and took the BBB opportunity to let him drown in admiration at the thousands of motorcyles on Dickson Street Saturday morning!
He was in awe of them, he was so enthralled with being in motorcycle heaven he would not even look at the camera.

Posted by PicasaHe saw a rainbow of colored bikes, every size imaginable and a lot of weird bikes too! I think he got his fix for a while! Oh, and can you tell I learned a new secret from Ashley on how to add effects to your pictures!  Mine are a little rough, but I plan on practicing more!

Rockin' and a Bowlin'

If you didn't know, Fast Lane has 99 cent bowling on Wednesdays from 11-5!  We are taking full advantage!Harry loves to bowl and lucky for us we have friends who like to go too!We cheer for our friends! It really is a sight to see!

We have been the last three Wednesdays.  I didn't get pictures today, because I seriously look like I am smuggling bowling balls, as K and E's daddy would say!
On another note, I got a new camera and it is not fool proof! It doesn't just take good pictures like my other camera did.  Oh well!

Georia Kelley's Church Shower

Humbled, is again how I felt on Monday morning after being showered with love and excitement for our little girl.  Our wonderful close friends from church went through a lot of effort to make her shower elegant and perfect.  The outcome was humbling.  I realized once I got home and was showing everything to Chad how blessed we are to have people who care so much to make us feel loved. I did not expect anyone to come to the shower, since it was a second baby.  I hate to say it, it sounds awful but, like most people I like stuff! I really like Georgia Kelley's stuff! She will not be laking in the gear department!I didn't get any pictures with the hostesses, but Hannah took some of me opening gifts and can I say that is so embarrassing!  I wish I could just open them when no one is looking at me.  I seriously loved everything I received and can not wait to use them all!Harry was given two gifts too!  Here are the pictures of him opening them!  He has been wanting a backpack so bad and Ms. Linda got him one! Leave it to Linda to think of the other kid!He has worn it all morning long and wants to put everything.  He keeps telling me he is taking it to school tomorrow.  Ms. Paulette gave Harry a Thomas train and if you know Harry, it was a hit too!
I don't want to sound like I am bragging or boasting but, I am overwhelmed with the amount of support our friends have shown us.  It has been so fun talking about when Georgia Kelley gets here.  I would like to write more but, Harry wants me to go to the car and get his backpack....

BTW, can someone tell me where spellcheck is on the new blogger?

You, Me and a Legacy

I must first start off by saying that Harry has my heart.  I worship the ground that boy walks on!  I have not had much time during this pregnancy to sit and soak in the fact that I am having a little girl.  I have always loved the idea of having a little girl, although there are a few things I do not want to experience with a girl. I the girl drama.  I am excited about the tea parties, best friend for life, hairbows, cute clothes, pinkstuff, gettign our nails done, and of course teaching her all thing things I have been taught by the great women in my life.
Georgia Kelley is entering into a family of strong wonderful women.  Chad and I both have strong Christian women from both sides of our parent's families.   It is no secret that I have a very special bond with my Grandmother Georgia.  I also have a mom as who is my best friend.  They have taught me so much, and given me so much of my confidence.  I also have a very special relationship with my mom's sisters.  Each  of them have been super supportive of me ever since I was tiny.  I seek a lot of advice and wisdom from them.  Their view on life is very inspiring to me.

That all being said, Chad and I have asked his mom and sister and my mom and sister to be in the the delievery room when Georgia Kelley  is born.  This is a personal choice for personal reasons.  One being how important it is for Georgia Kelley to keep advice and deep relationships with the women who have her best interest at heart.  I feel like this will symbolize the beginning of the strong legacy she has been given.  These four women are not the only women who will influence her in a deep way, she also has the other wonderful women in my life to watch and learn from.  The women I surround myself with, will hopefully be the women she seeks counsel from.  I have been praying that I keep surrounding myself with women of virtue. I also know that Georgia Kelley will follow my lead.  I pray that God will give her a desire to follow Him and that she admires and appreciates Godly and wise women.
Proverbs 19:20-21

20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction,

That you may be wise in your latter days.

21 There are many plans in a man’s heart,

Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel—that will stand.

The Satterfields Came

One of my best friends brought her family that we all love to our house this weekend!  We knew it would be a very relaxing weekend with great conversations!  They came on Thursday night and had to leave early Sunday morning, so Lauren was not able to make it to Georgia Kelley's shower.  I woke up from a nap on Friday with a "family shower"!  Lauren's mom had made these fantastic, made for Rick's Bakery cookies and Lauren made punch!  She gave Georgia Kelley two of the most adorable outfits!  It was so thoughtful, I was beaming!Harry and James had so much fun together too.The Benton County Fair Parade was on Saturday morning on the square.  The boys loved it. After the fair, Lauren and I were able to shop and then back to the house while the boys all went to catch the game!  The McMennamy's gave us some of their tickets to the game and we were able to give them to Josh to take James to his first Georgia game.  They had a great time, and of course they appreciated the outcome!
I made Lauren experience HSM2 and we were able to talk talk talk!  She is such an insperation to me!
Oh and on Friday night Lauren and I knocked on the Duggar's door and talked to the Duggars.  On Saturday we ran into Matt Jones!  It was a very eventful weekend!  We love the Satterfield and can't wait to see them again!

I can't figure out where spell check is??  So annoying! I hate editting!

Humbled

I have been humbled!  In most working situations when an employee resigns, they are usually out of sight out  and of mind not long after they leave.  That is not so in my case.  My two friends and teammates that I worked with last year insisted on throwing me a shower.  I was determined to talk them out of it because, 1. second baby, 2. people don't like to spend money on diapers, especially on someone they don't see much!  That is not the case at good ole' Old High Middle School!  I was showered with diapers, gift cards, and sweet girly books!  My friend Amy hosted at her new house and the turn out humbled me. I did not expect many people to come but, I was suprised with my favorite coworkers dropping by!  Talk about true friends!  I miss them all so much! Those two gifts below are the hostess gifts, Sign Sealed Delievered may be the best wrapping store ever!Babies always bring joy to events!

The two hostesses and a tired mama!  Stacey and Amy are my teammates from last year that I miss so much! Chad was the most excited when I got home! He said, you got enough diapers for 3 months and gift cards to pay for diapers for the next three!  Those are his favorite gifts!  I have to say that the gift of time and effort that the teachers gave me were my favorite!  I am humbled, I just do not feel like I deserve to be showered this much with a second baby!  On the other hand, I am enjoying every minute!

Georgia Kelley's Nursery

As Harry would say, "Tada!" Her room is 90% finished! She is lacking her bookshelf, but we will have it before she gets here! I remember sitting in Harry's nursery before he was here dreaming of him and I do the same thing with her room!  The first picture is of her bow holder.  I made most of those bows and had my friend Mandy paint "One hairbow closer to Heaven"! Mandy is one of the most talented artists I know! She does professional oil paintings of people and can do anything!I stole the idea of the japanese lanterns/puff balls  idea from http://www.ashlynannsphotography.com/ after a recommendation from my friend Kim! I had my neighbor sew her bumper, but I redid her chair, made her curtian and the bed skirt! If you look close you will see a lot of errors, but they work!

My friend, Katie painted this little banner hanging on the changing table. I love looking at it when I walk into her room! The painting above her bed was made by my friend Cheryl! I had her do it before she moved to Houston.  She is the same one who painted Harry's rocker.
All of us mom's feel this way but, I would like to sleep in her room!
