Let Me Take You For a Ride

on my big green tractor!
This one is for my grandmother!  My grandparents gave this to Harry and Georgia Kelley for Christmas/Birthday.  I can tell you it is the best PowerWheels because, it goes in the grass!  Georgia Kelley liked her ride!Harry loves this tractor so much, he usually has it filled with all his cars and favorite sticker books! There is an obstacle course made with toys he use to play with.  Harry rides through it as fast as he can go! It was on slow mode with Georgia Kelley! He rides on this tractor every chance he can get.  Mommy loves it too:)Harry blocking the sun for her!  He is also holding sticks he picked up during the drive. I couldn't help but sing that country song the whole time!

Another Sacred Sunday

Sunday was really a major bummer.  We were snowed in on the day we were suppose to meet my new nephew, Bo Paul!  We made the most of it by lounging around and vegging out!

Harry

I haven't done a Harry post in a while so, here goes!  These pictures clearly define Harry at this age.  He is into guns, super heroes, being outside, and moving! He also loves reading Dr. Seuss books, playing with his friends, Fun City, playgrounds, gogurts, Sonic, cereal, school, my phone, motorcycles, his tractor, cowboys, horses, cars, race tracks, and that about sums up his favorites.  It has been a big issue getting him to sleep at night. His ritual is reading books, praying, going potty, and then we have to use our finger guns to shoot all the monsters and other wild beasts in his room.  He even sleeps with a dinky old plastic gun.  The cape he has on in the pictures was Chad's when he was a little boy.  Harry wore it to school one day and the teacher said he only took it off to ride the tricycle because, the cape was getting stuck in the wheels. He still has some bad habits: sucking on a paci, changing clothes a couple of times a day, eating junk, not saying please, throwing fits when he doesn't get what he wants, and I am sure there are more but, I can't think of them now.
He also has very sweet qualities that make him special.  He is intuitive.  He can read a situation and is quit to help.  He loves his friends.  He likes to help with Georgia Kelley.  He has a fantastic sense of humor and laughs a lot.  He is calm when he needs to be(except those fits).
Harry LOVES laundry, he begs me to do it every day!  He likes to sort the clothes and he likes to stuff his clothes in his drawers!  It is the oddest thing but, Harry loves it!

Five Months Old

Today was beautiful and I took the opportunity to take Georgia Kelley's five month shots on my friend's land.  My grandmother Georgia made this quilt for me and I had the perfect bloomers that this quilt would show off.I don't know what to say about her that doesn't make me sound repetitive. We are just in love with this sweet thing.  The thing that I am most amazed about is the fact that she puts up with Harry! She is still smiley and content.  She loves to play with her toys and she mostly enjoys people's faces. This is her favorite face!  Harry is so rough with her.  I mean ridiculously rough with her and she doesn't cry!  He scoots her by pushing her with his feet, he rubs her head hard everytime he walks past her.  She did cry hard when he poked her in the eye.  I was taking pictures of her and he came, laid down and started posing...he never poses when I ask him to.

Sunday Bed Head

Sundays are sacred in this house.  They were not nice to us when we were going to early service but, now that we attend late service we are enjoying our time.  Harry joins us in bed around 6am every morning and he usually goes right back to sleep.  Georgia Kelley usually decides to wake up shortly after.I took these pictures while Harry was still asleep and you can see that bedhead of his.
I guess this is how our Sunday afternoons use to look!

No Cavities.... Yet

Harry has a new love and it is for the DENIST!  I am not even kidding you! I have been dreading this visit like the plague! That is why it didn't bother me we couldn't get in for three months! What won Harry over you ask?  The denist's motorcycle scrubs and the fact that he made Harry feel so special with the frog teeth thing!  He also got to pick out his the toothpaste flavor and wear sunglasses! I have never seen him so still. Then he got a toothbrush, a ball and two stickers! He is still talking about his trip to the denist.  He tells everyone how much he loves his "teeth doctor"!  I know this is for a short time! We are so shocked he enjoyed it so much!  Who would have thought?Georgia Kelley was a good girl too.

Our First Family Heirloom

My dear friend Mandy asked me if I would sit for her so that she could paint me with Georgia Kelley.  She is  entering it in a contest and needed a real life model. Of course this is never anything I would do on my own or could afford but, I was beyond honored at the opportunity!   I am so proud of this painting! I have decided that it is the only material thing that I would ever run after if our house was on fire!  We are getting  replicas for my mom and grandmother. You won't even be able to tell it is not the original!  I have to say this is one of the coolest gifts I have ever been given.    It is not completely finished.  I wrote a life letter to Georgia Kelley and Mandy is going to write it in a light color in the background.  You will have to look close to see it.  I wrote the letter in like thirty minutes and it turned out being a long list of advice! When I get back to her studio, I will take more picture of it. When she finished I told her I didn't think it looked like me; me in the painting is  much prettier than me in real life!
We spent about 15 hours in her studio and had so much fun!  We ate three nights of Table Mesa and had a ball! Mandy is a very quiet spirit with a Godly heart! I have always enjoyed our time together and I love her even more after our time together! And if you know me, then you realize that she had to be a patient person to finish this painting since sitting still is not my strong point!  How do you say thank you for creating a family heirloom!
This picture is from my Iphone; I will post more pictures later!

What? Huh?

A bit shocked, a bit disappointed, a bit excited, and a bit numb.
Harry has said "what" for the last 4 or so months and it has been driving me crazy.  Chad and I have just assumed he just doesn't pay attention or it is habit.  Two weeks ago I just out of the blue(AKA God) thought I may get his ears checked just in case there could be a problem.  I really thought I would go into the CCD and they would tell me I just had a three year old boy who is too involved in other things and doesn't want to listen to his mama!  Well, I was wrong!  Dr. Black told me that his left ear has so much fluid that iti s like he hears underwater.  He said Harry has a significant amount of hearing loss in his left ear and some in is right ear.  I would never had know if I didn't just get this hunch from God to have him get a test. Dr. Black also tested Harry and said he has learned to read lips.  Chad told me that a few days ago and I did not believe him!  I just thought it was normal.  I also look back and notice other things, like how Harry sits when I read to him.  He has his ear right to my mouth looking out.  God is good, all Harry has to do is go through a little procedure of getting tubes and then they are going to take out his adenoids.  We have been down this road before and I feel so blessed to know that he can be free from hearing loss in a little over a week!  I think I am just more annoyed at myself for not noticing this sooner.
