When the Baby is Away the Parents will Play

That is what happened this last weekend! Coco came to our area to take a class for school and stayed with us all week! We were loving it, just a piece of how nice it would be if they lived closer! Harry accompanied her home on Thursday! This is the longest we have been away from him. We took full advantage! Chad did what he loves golf and relaxing at the house and I did what I love girl time over good food! Thursday night I met with some of my very close friends at Fish City Grill and then we sat in front of the Promenade’s Starbucks until midnight! Three of the ladies are over forty; I look to them as great Christian mentors. They are some of the ones I call when I have worries or need help with Harry. It was a treat to chat it up with them!
Friday I was able to go to lunch with Holly and Kim B and plan a new mission we are on (more on that later). I spent the rest of the day shopping and getting ready for Chad’s big birthday present.
I stole this idea from Brandy Reynolds. I emailed a few of Chad’s best buddies and planned for them to come over for a poker night. They were all ready and willing (those that were not on vacation)! Chad loved it! I definitely scored bonus points for this one! While they were at the house I was able to catch Sex and the City with Shannon and Erin! Can I say bliss! Afterwards we caught up over apps at Bonefish! A great night for all!
Saturday morning we got up early to meet with Brian and Katie! We rented a cabin and floated the Buffalo! It was a great day in the son! Arkansas is such a beautiful state. It was a very good time. Ask you can tell I did not stay very loyal to my camera! Chad and I love hanging out with Brian and Katie; they are so refreshing to be around!
I have to say the best part of the weekend was seeing Harry! He on the other hand was quite content staying with Paa(paul) and Bobo and Coco. We were also able to spend Father’s Day at my grandparent’s house and soak up more family time. Harry was great. Paa and Coco taught him a whole new set of words and he actually says them. He was so happy with them; part of me wanting him to stay clung to us when he saw us but, what can I say he likes the grands! We are hopeful the sugar detox he is now one will last until his next big adventure with them!

It's always a treat to get away for a while and let your little one be loved on by your parents. I know it's hard at times, but it's well worth it and you're right, they LOVE it. It sounds like you had a wonderful time alone!

Can't wait to
"really" meet you next month! Lunch at my house- bring the little one.
