Is there anything more obnoxious than someone who thinks they are entitled? I am over it and over them! I say that but, my son has this little problem. He believes it is his right to go to the pool and expects to get a dollar item every time we got to Target. After teaching in the Bentonville School District, I have come to despise the entitlement of kids and it almost always stems from their parents...what does that say about me? Well do not judge too quickly because, you may be just as guilty if not more but, in denial! As I sit here and complain after a wonderful "entitled" trip to Mexico! I have been wanting to post these pictures but, they were on my little camera that I am "entitled" to have since I have small kids and need to document every cute thing they do in all the places they are "entitled" to go! See a problem here? Well, let me tell you about a sweet little women who does not feel entitled...Chad's grandma and to be honest both of his grandmas are the most humble women I know! They are so appreciative of everything and never buy themselves a thing!
A month or so back I was getting really annoyed at my child's "entitlement" and decided to make him go do something that I knew he would not be too excited to do. We went to Grandma's nursing home and passed out chocolates at lunch time. It turned out to be a success and showed him that doing things for others can be fun too.

Anyway, I am not really that proud of this act of service, we should be doing many more things like this but, since we are entitled to spend our summer at the pool and with friends doing more "fun" things we do them instead of doing for others....yes I am annoyed and ready to turn over a new leaf. Any suggestions on service projects I can do with two little ones will be considered!

Amanda...you have a servants heart and I know that you are going to teach your kids well. I understand what you mean about entitlement...but remember that Harry is so little, part of that attitude is just being a little boy and as he grows his heart will too! Just keep being an example if how to serve others, and as they grow they will learn! Anyway that's my two cents! I miss you guys!
