Your Name Means What?

This is one of my random posts of what has been on my mind or what God is teaching me!
We are studying the women in the lineage of Christ and I have had to really dig into the history! I feel like it is needless to say that when you are in God's word you will be amazed...once you get in it...you just can't get out! I sound crazy talking about these women because I feel like I know them! Kind of like we are about celebrities.
In ancient day parents named their children after they were a year old.  A name could tell you about the person before you even met them. The first woman we  studied was Tamar from Genesis.  Her name means "date palm" which is a highly valued tree that withstands tough climates.  Tamar was married to two wicked men and was given the short end of big deals!  Obviosly she was well named!
Rahab means "proud or arrogant"! This makes me laugh because I could totally see that in her! I felt bad for her when I studied her because she is totally stuck as being "Rahab the Harlot" and then to have a name that means sinful attitudes just stinks!  I was facilitating and made the comment that I hope Georgia Kelley doesn't get stuck with her name bearing the meaning of her! Georgia means "farmer"!  Isn't that awful? I named her Georgia after my grandmother, so I felt like I named her after the legacy my grandmother left.  It really bothered me that Georgia Kelley's name mean farmer.  My grandmother did grow up on a farm but Georgia Kelley is NOT a farmer.

The last few days I have been studying Ruth, which means "friend".  Naomi is who is really fascinating me! I am enthralled with the lessons God is teaching me through her story!  Her name meant "lovely" and after her boys all died she asked her old friends and family to call her  Mara, which means "bitter". LIke I said, the names in ancient day meant a lot to people. I was stuck on the fact that Georgia's first name meant something I don't like.  No offense...I love farms but, I don't want to be named after one!  Kelley means "war and bright headed". I like can handle the "bright headed" part but, once again...not a fan of the "war" part.  Some would say that I shouldn't care..but I do and guess what God has totally encouraged me! I am talking....he has once again made me proud of her name!  I was discussing this with my friend Kathy, my mentor, and she immediatly said, "that is a beautiful meaning".  She didn't have to say any more!  I got it!  What do farmers do? They plant and water seeds! They help take care of animals!  Could I ask for a better meaning?  Are you with me?  My biggest prayer for my children since they were born is that they are light to others!  What is better than showing Christ?  Sharing him...and helping others grow closer to him!  Kelley...war means strife....of course we are in a spiritual war!  I hate that! I hate that Satan as after my kids and daily works on how he can bring them down but,  following God's word is the best way to grow closer to him and "fight" against the attacks of the evil one!  This was HUGE for me! I am so excited about her name! I may just have it painted in her room! I pray Georgia Kelley lives up to her name! Oh God is good!
Harry's name means "leader"! Enough said!

Naomi's story has been such a revelation to me in more ways than I could have ever thought! Maybe I will discuss them when I decide to love blogging again!

Easter Events

A few of our Easter happenings are finally posted!  Here goes! Chad's mom went all out for the Ware Easter celebration!  It was a blast and the kids were in heaven!  They got to hang with their cousins and grands! Papa did not fail us with some fantastic food!  He is my favorite cook!

We also had our church egg hunt!  I am obsessed with my three year olds! They are so stinkin' precious!
GEorgia Kelley gets a bit timid in some situations and she was not a big fan of attaching eggs! Once she realized chocolates were in the eggs....it was game on!
My sweeties!  I am so crazy about them!

Harry's precious teacher and classmates!  He will be going to kindergarten with three of his classmates! I know those girls will keep me in the know of what is going on at recess!
My mom and dad came to watch the kids the Friday before Easter!  They offered to take over the egg dying! This is all Harry talked about Friday!

We loved celebrating Easter! I especially missed my brother's little family this year!  We are getting the itch to see them soon!

I feel like we go ninety to nothing sometimes and I love that I have my phone to capture our adventures. Here is harry dissecting owl throw up!  It is really cool to figure out what the owl eats!

You know us, you know we take full advantage of beautiful weather!  We hit up the Botantical Gardens with our pals the Welborns!

We love Sams Club! It may be weird but we love it!  The guys who check our tickets have become our friends!  We love them!
 Another trip for fro yo!
How funny are these pictures? We were facechatting with John and Emily and Harry had a nerf gun fight with Emily and Georgia Kelley was kissing John!  So fun!
I almost forgot St. Pattys Day!  BUG! Harry made traps for the little leprechaun so he didn't get into our stuff!  I totally forgot to make a mess and leave gold....White Oak Station saved me!

John is so good to my kids! He and Emily came down for a few days and my kids were so happy!

One afternoon we spent it just chillin with a Redbox!
Like the rest of Arkansas, we have been enjoying the Dogwoods!  They are gorgeous!
We also spent a weekend outside at a few of the parks around town!  Smores were Harry's favorite!

 This house in Fayetteville?? WOWZERS!

Georgia Kelley helps Mimi water the flowers!
Chad and I attended a Harding Alumni and Friends reception at one of my good friend's houses! Chad and I had the best time chatting with former teachers and friends!  It was really weird chatting with Dr. Burkes on this side of life! Chad wouldn't let me tell him how I put a  For Sale sign in his front yard my freshman year!  YIKES!

Harry loves soccer! He practices all the time!  We all love the game!

A great little girls night to Soul Sisters with a few of my favorites! We are going to Beth Moore this weekend in KC!  WOOT WOOT!

This looks like a bar but it is really a coffee shop on the square with the best most affordable breakfasts!  We love it!
Harry is giddy about the dentist!
Our sweet friends Avery and Ashley came to Harry's ballgame Monday night!  The girls had so much fun!
Cruz has become influential in getting my daughter to play in the mud!  She was HAPPY!

 We cuddle!
Amy and I helped throw a birthday bash for our friend Ashley!   It was a Party like a Rockstar theme!  We had a great time visiting with everyone and putting the whole thing together!  Her hubs wanted her to have a memorable night and I believe that was accomplished! Ashley is by far one of the kindest sweetest people I have ever known!  I adore her and feel blessed to have her as my neighbor!
A few of our other pals at the party! It was a good time! Chad and I joke about how much I talked! I was so excited to see people I don't get to talk to very often....yes I like to talk!
I am putting another post up soon with the rest of our Easter events!  I have not been feeling social media lately....I feel like I force myself to get on it.....a phase!
