Harry's Day

As I mentioned before Harry had to have hernia surgery.  I don't know how he got it. The doctor thinks it may be the P90X we have been making him do. No, really he has probably had it since birth.  Yesterday I took him to Wal-Mart and let him pick out whatever he wanted to eat since he couldn't eat before his surgery today! His surgery was at 11 and I knew it would be tough. He chose all junk! His most prized choice was powdered donuts! That cracked me up because his Uncle Paul has always been a fan of them!  He stayed up late with Chad and ate pizza, popcorn, and M&Ms!  He woke up to his best buddy Jake coming for an early morning visit!  Jake brought him a cool movie, snacks, and a coloring book.  His mom brought me lots of magazines and my favorite drinks! It was a very special treat! Not to mention they were picking up GK from school so we could watch Harry!

We got there and Harry quickly got in gear!
 All thumbs up!
Chad didn't want any pictures.
Bobo and Mimi came to be with us during the surgery.  They brought some super fun treats and the Ipad was a huge bonus!  Aunt Ria sent Harry's favorite kind of book...Carebears!
Oh Coco and her silly toys! I have to admit I am a fan of funny animals who sing! Kim, I know you are reading and feel the same way!
The Ipad dog and cat licking the screen came in very handy!
 Thumbs up! Brave Harry!
Mimi swung by with a movie Harry has been really wanting!  Thumbs up!

Harry has lots of love for his Papa! It is so sweet to me! He reached in for a hug!
 Thumbs up for Brave Harry!
Shark app was another fun one the kid loved!

We felt very blessed to have our friend Sam do his anesthesia!  She came in before and calmed all the nerves and answered any questions!  Harry felt a bit weird about riding in the bed back to surgery so she carried him!  It was a huge blessing to have her there with him every minute that we were not! She took care of him and us!
The waking up was the worst part.  Once we snuck Coco in things just got a bit better with the licking app!  It wasn't pretty but better. This part was heart breaking!
He ate a powered donut!
Once he got home, he and I took a long nap! I didn't sleep at all last night and you know  always welcome a nap with my little guy!  While we were down some of our favorites had come by with some special treats to "ease the pain"! Brooklyn brought special toys! Harry liked the painting most!Kathy, Jake, and Emma brought GK home and brought Harry's favorite drink, sparkling grape juice!  She witnessed Harry drink a bottle of this at bible class one time!  He was thrilled to have his own!The Hicks dropped off a big bucket of goodies that Harry has treasured all day!  It was a loot!  The notes they left were just precious!  Harry had a huge grin pulling out all the new surprises! This monkey is hilarious!  Look at GK sneaking the candy! Here is what he requested! This is not all the snacks and candy he was given but, I had to take a picture! I would like to say this is the last time I let this much junk parade around my house!  I say that but, of course it is not!Ms. Ashley across the street sent over a special bucket of goodies that kept Harry saying, "awesome"!  He loved them!  GK wanted to hand them to him!Ms. Melissa brought over a spectacular meal! Chad said, "I didn't know she was such a good cook!" It is amazing how talented she is! Who would have thought!  She also sent over a bucket of goodies! Including Captain Crunch! He has been begging me to get this cereal and I just can't fall slave to the sugar stuff! I told Melissa it would be the best gift! She is too sweet!  Such a gift to have such wonderful girls as my neighbors! For dessert....ice cream from Papa!  When Papa came to see Harry he asked him if he was going to stay for a while! I am telling you, Harry LOVES this man!
So, today was a bit painful with sweets to ease it!  He is laying here with me on the couch. He hasn't walked today and doesn't feel like doing anything but watching movies and looking at his new books, toys, and snacks.  He is soaking up every minute of the care he has been given!  I am beyond grateful for the huge outreach of love and support our friends and family have bestowed on us.  We are so undeserving and thankful.  I hope I can show a glimpse of the love to someone else that people have given to us. Prayers are being answered!

He's such a sweetie!! So glad everything went well. You have amazing friends who love you all so much and that love is shown through all the great things that came out of a "not so great" day. The pic of GK trying to sneak candy cracks me up! :)
